Crested Butte Ski Vacation

Crested Butte Ski Vacation

When we think Colorado and world class ski resort often the first thing that comes to mind are the mega resorts like Aspen and Vail. However there are many ‘smaller’ resorts that are just gems in the skiing world. Crested Butte is one of those. Welcome To Colorful Colorado

It all started with one click and two putts as my ’94 Buick Skylark drove out of the drive way. With high expectations for the trip and very low expectations for my car, we half smiled as we went along are way. Not excited for the 16 hours of driving I had to do, I focused on what fun we would have skiing, hiking, and being burly men with a little too much freedom. 20 hours later, with more caffeine then blood in our systems, and looking like we turned into zombies, we made it to the colorful state of Colorado.

After 15 minutes of slipping and sliding on the Hously’s mountain of a driveway, we made it to our home for the next three days. It’s a beautiful log cabin with a heavenly view over-looking the great thundering Rocky Mountains.

With barely any sleep and barely able to stand, we headed towards the wonderful and magical Winter Park. (Now, I have never skied before but my friend Austin, reassured me that I would be “fine”). After a ten

Fantasy Baseball Breakdown

The Six-Month Grind

We’re three weeks into the 2006 baseball season, and if your fantasy team looks anything like mine, you’re ready to unload half of your roster. I know it’s hard, but be patient. The worse thing you could do right now is panic and make a bad trade or drop a good player.

Off to a Hot Start

While it’s very difficult to watch your team stumble out of the gate (as I’m writing this, my offense is a collective 0-15 today and I’m about ready to have a fire sale), there was a reason why you drafted these guys. If you

Challenge the Conventional Wisdom

Conventional wisdom is a term coined by the economist John Kenneth Galbraith in his 1958 book The Affluent Society, second edition (New York: Houghton & Mifflin, 1958). It is used to describe certain ideas or explanations that have become generally accepted as true. However, conventional wisdom may actually be either true or false.

Conventional wisdom often stops people in their tracks. This is not necessarily bad. If the conventional wisdom is that a small business will not survive and grow without proper financing — a truism that has been shown to be true countless times — and this rightly should act as a stumbling block to the nascent small business owner who intends to start a venture on a shoestring and hope for the best.

But conventional wisdom should not stand in the way when the belief is based on outmoded facts, wrong premises, or prejudice.

As Galbraith said, “The enemy of the conventional wisdom is
